Milkshakes

Me and a Farmer once made milkshakes. Only rather than using a blender to mix the icecream with the milk, we used knives. Sounds dangerous, really isn't.
So, today, I made a milkshake with a knife and ice cream. I was so excited to drink it. Even though it was cold outside, I had just created a wonderful bit of awesomeness.
It turned out that it was so cold outside that my milkshake thickened right when we stepped outside. I had to wait for it to thaw out a bit so that I could actually drink it. I was distraught.
Oh, and by the way, Happy Halloween!

Rebuttal and Irrespnsibility

I do not bend to Kentucky's every wish and command! In fact I have never just done something for her! Besides washing my sheets and her sheets TOGETHER so that she didn't complain or drag me to go and do it with her later. I am not a slave, I just happen to be a nice person because she never asks me to do things like that! I just am doing it form me so I figure why not do it for her if she's just going to drag me to do it later.

Now that that is cleared up, I'm on to my stupidity. Why am I so forgetful? Yes I'm saying it! I forget everything! I have to write it down and then sometimes I STILL forget! I have forgotten so many things being here at college has caused so much stress and I don't think it's been good for that part of my brain that lets me remember things....I really need to work on being more remember-ful...

I Have A Personal Slave

I have often commented on how nice it is to room with HossBoss. And not because she is a good example, has good music, or goes to bed at a reasonable hour.
Nope.
It is because she has become my personal slave
Today she washed my sheets. How many times have I washed my own sheets?
Never.
Basically I point and snap and she does what I ask.
Am I terrible?
Yes.
Do I enjoy this?
Yes.
I have her working on planning my halloween costume right now.

I get to write about how much I hate your class?!

Recently I have rediscovered my true hate for English...the class. And possibly the language. But this time around the topic of which I as a student get to write about is my writing process. Why I'm writing about writing I don't know but I am! And it just so happenes that I don't take pleasure in writing so this will reflect in my paper.

I decided to make writing my arch nemesis in this upcoming paper. It' going to be great. I seriously get to write about how much I hate writing. It's a narrative paper and therefore about me. It's supposed to be easy and I know it won't be but it should at least be fun to thrash on her class and how much I hate her profession!! I never knew how many different ways there were of pulling her class to pieces and talking about how much it sucks! Today different people were talking about their "writing process" and their focuses and they were all not negative but pointing out something that they really had a problem with in the writing process. Which makes sense because it has to be a complication but still.....we just tore that class apart, threw it on the ground, and stomped all over it.

So in essence I get to write about my hate for that classes main purpose. Awesome.

I am evil. Also: Ice Cream Cones are Odd

For the last couple of days I have been badgering HossBoss to write on the blog. She's been sick, so this was incredibly evil of me... And all along it turns out that I was my turn to post in the blog. I'm a terrible friend.
Anywho: onto my actual post.
I will invite you to listen to the internal thoughts (because what kind of thoughts aren't internal?) of Kentucky before she goes to bed.
Ice cream cones are weird. If you think hard enough about the concept of ice cream cones, you will realize that I am telling the truth.
Ice Cream Cone: noun, A crispy piece of bread used to hold a sphere of frozen milk for optimal licking.
And somehow, magically, this piece of bread doesn't fall apart when the ice cream melts? Please explain this phenomenon to me, if you can.
Then, consider the shape of ice cream cones. It is a cone shape... I think the general idea of the cone shape was to catch the drips of the ice cream as it melts. But we all know that ice cream doesn't melt into the cone: it melts onto your hands, so this function of the ice cream cone is moot point.
And then there are those ice cream "cones" that aren't even cones. They're more flashlight shaped, and are perpetually stale tasting. And even though these bits of bread are wafer thin, they don't get soggy and fall apart either! Not only does this kind of cone defy any sort of expectations for an ice cream cone, it isn't even a cone!
Finally, there is the waffle cone... don't even get me started on the waffle cone. If you are a lucky ice cream purchaser, you will get a waffle cone that is closed at the bottom. But most of the time, the waffle cone is wide open at the bottom. This results in ice cream melting onto your hand, and, if the random drop falls where it's supposed to... well that drop won't be caught by the cone, like the ice cream cone engineer designed. Instead, it will land on what ever unfortunate object is under the cone at the moment. Most of the time, it is your toes.

Adventures?

I don't think I've had any true adventures. But there is one coming up!! Kentucky, Pocho, Boston and myself will be driving to Atlanta soon for the bestest time ever!!! I can't wait to go!! I need a good adventure every once in awhile.

Maybe I'll attempt to take the bus somewhere off campus.....talk about scary! I'll make its with someone. And yes it will probably be to the mall. But who cares! It'll definitely be an experience!!! I've made up my mind. I'll do it. With Boston most likely...Kentucky works to much and Pocho doesn't enjoy it. Sad day.

Already?

It's October...already. It's half way through my semester and my second wave of tests has already made it's way into my life. New people have made themselves known. And two people (that I know of) have left us.

That's right people the second half of the semester is coming up FAST!!! Who's idea was it to make college stressful?? Really who invented that?! I don't think college was meant to be so stressful. Don't get me wrong Kentucky and myself are handling it very well! I mean as well as we can :) We do love this whole idea of college :) It was brilliance!! But the thing that would make it better is if teachers didn't stress me out so much!! And let me just say that it's not happening! For instance the Monday after fall break I had a test and a half draft with a conference with my professor! THEN tomorrow, Wednesday, I have TWO tests and a full rough draft due! I might explode. But I feel like I'm handling it well. Poor Kentucky gets all the sidetrack-ness of HossBoss.

It's been fun though! We've been heavily participating(well I have ;)) in our church groups and such. I'm rather proud of us for this! It's never a question is we're going to our Monday gathering or our Wednesday class, we just do! And I'm very glad we made that decision, we both need the comical/spiritual relief. For instance I was freaking out about this week a bit and still went to our Monday groups and played the funnest game I've ever played!! Handball may sound boring but it is a blast!

Also what's been happening is picking a major. Talk about the scariest thing EVER! Let's just pick the rest of my life while we're at it! Why not?! People take this decision so lightly! And I, obviously, am stressing a little about not getting into the college of my choice! :( Those nasty "what if" questions get in my head and they're not very nice :( I'm trying for graphic design in case any of you were wondering. It's extremely competitive!

I would also like to put a quick note about how totally awesome Steve Jobs was! His ingenious ideas are the best things ever now! They're a reality and he will rest in peace knowing he's probably still making a butt load of money haha.
I also would like to give tribute my first ever high school teacher who passed away today. He was my world history teacher my freshman year of high school. He was my friend for all of the rest of high school. We frequently exchanged "witty" remarks in the hallways. It was never a dull moment with Coach. He was a great man with great opinions and the biggest will to fight! He WILL be remembered, loved, and never forgotten. My whole high school and even graduates(including myself and Kentucky) all wore green in his honor yesterday. He went to Marshall in West Virginia and boy he wouldn't let anyone forget! But Coach you were and inspiration, a great teacher, coach, and person. Thank you for scary the little freshman right out of me!

Bananagrams

To pass the time, Pocho, Boston, HossBoss and I spend too much time playing bananagrams. Seeing as how this is the case, I have had a lot of time to observe the norm for everyone's individual bananagram board. I had created samples of what most people's boards would look like.
Exhibit One: Boston
This girl uses words I have never heard of before... or words that I would never think of. She used "sigma" once. Case and point.
Exhibit Two: Kentucky
I am the least eloquent of our friends. I also get stuck with all of the E's, G's and D's most games.
Pocho also says that I am not allowed to use "Jew" anymore. What's a girl to do with a J, a whole bunch of E's and a W?
Exhibit Three: HossBoss
HossBoss's board is usually really compact. I have no idea how she does it... it is awe inspiring. She is also a chronic user of the word "zit." I think it's the only Z word she knows.
Exhibit Four: Pocho
Most of the time, Pocho gets all of the really hard letters. And she does really well with them. In fact, most of her best words come from her hard-to-use-letters. Until she gets lazy and decides to string letters together and hope we don't notice.
That's how it goes around here.

Double Takes

The classic double take. Classy or complimentary? I think it depends on who's getting the double take and who is receiving the double look.

Last night Kentucky and I stayed up late...er, than normal and tried on clothes. Yes we know, what a girlish thing to occupy time with. But it was tons of fun!! For some reason we didn't want to look like bums today :) Which was good for us since we usually don't mind sporting the t-shirt and jeans/shorts look. So for us to take the time to look nicer was a big deal. And we had fun staying up, trying on outfits (ridiculous or not), and sleeping in because of no early classes :D

So the point of my pointing out double takes was that when you look nicer, you usually get more double takes.....who knew?! I was walking to class jammin' to the music on my iPod and what do ya know I got the most double takes I think I've gotten in a long time!! I took most of them as compliments :) I mean you can't take all of them as compliments because some people are creepy. And I'm not ok with creepy. End of story.

Walking to Math is Dangerous

One day I thought I was safe walking to math. All of the sudden, there are about twenty sweaty children clambering/vaulting/sliding over a railing nearly on top of me.
If you aren't careful, you can be run over by parkour kids quite easily.

Well, well, well...

Boston here with your latest updates because Kentucky is quite the slacker. (Mentall I'm picturing her say, "I resent that!" haha.) We, HossBoss, Pocho, Kentucky and I, Boston are all off campus being cool-kids this weekend together. Its been a ball spending time on the floor with our coloring pages, and listening to everyone's imitation of chickens. Bok! XD
Food has been great too curtosy of Mrs. Kentucky, aka su madre. Much better than anything grey and lumpy we could get at the dining hall. And the grey and lumpy bit is no exaggeration. The food is close to edible there but there are plenty of things that land on the menu that are grey...and definitely rather lumpy. I can appreciate homecooked food.
It's pretty quiet now as everyone is sacking out. Kentucky jr is passed out in the middle of the living room carpet while HossBoss reads determined, but exhausted. Kentucky is curled up in a chair like mine in front of her laptop as well. Whether she's reading my blog post or something else I'll never know. Pocho headed up to bed about twenty minutes ago and if I know anything about her, she's already passed out. I'm headed to join her in la-la land, I think.
10-4: Boston
